Back in 1997…
In 1997 Ben Cox started Real Trees Landscaping & Design, which provided services to a variety of specific clients for over 10 years. However, being forward thinking, Ben realized the need for additional services to an ever-growing client base and in 2005 he founded Ben Cox, LLC.
Since 2005, under Ben’s direct supervision, the company has continually diversified its portfolio to provide a wide range of construction services to meet our clients ever changing needs. Ben has over 30 years experience in the construction business and is very involved in all aspects of the day-to-day operations. He also works closely with his team leaders to provide project estimates and cost alternatives for the client’s valued projects.
Ben has been blessed with a leadership team that exercises the same work ethic and goals that he has established over the years.

Jack Funderburk
Jack joined Ben Cox, LLC in January 2023 and serves as the Chief Operations Officer. He has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry with an emphasis in heavy civil construction, storm drainage, utility work and concrete/asphalt paving. Jack is always present in the field where he works closely with his Superintendents to make sure the job is done to the customers satisfaction.
Ron Miller
Ron has served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer since 2014 and is directly responsible for the management of the company’s financial well-being. A graduate of the University of South Carolina and a licensed Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years experience, Ron is heavily involved in project management and ensures our clients' complete satisfaction with our services. He brings invaluable expertise to the team, contributing to both the financial stability and operational success of Ben Cox Company, LLC.
Rick Bryant
As Project Manager/Estimator for Ben Cox, LLC, Rick is a graduate of Clemson University and has over 30 years of construction experience. Specializing in real estate development and construction management, his duties include due diligence, project estimating, budgeting, contract negotiations and project management.
In addition to a great leadership team, Ben has had the benefit of having his step-sons, Chase Marshall, (right) and Zach Marshall (left) join Ben Cox, LLC.
Chase who joined the company in 2019 is the Superintendent of Marine Services.
Zach serves as Superintendent for the Black River Cypress project, which has been ongoing since 2015.
